My recent visit to a grocery store in chennai, India in the first week of november 2008, did reveal a stricking problem. What came to my mind made me I explain down here.

Britannia has been a big supplier of buscuits in India for many years now. Its has never been questioned till some of the similar players in the market introduced much cheaper of biscuits.

We knew then, Britannia never wanted to be left out. It started competing and its still here firing all its cylinders to stay on top.

- All the above was erased when i could find these two packets of biscuits, same store, same price. I understand there is a some revision going underway.

Both packets were bought in the same store on same day. Both had same price. but difference in size and weight. 170 grams for bigger pack and 148 grams for smaller pack, and date of packing was near about a month difference. that was it.. !!!

As a customer I could not figure out if britannia was intentionally reducing the weight so customer may not notice it or is some one else playing .. thus it kept me guessing.

But what left me was a stream of photos and a lot of description. here we go.
watch out those photos. Britannia is not an indian concern. but in india, indians work for it.
The manufacture, distribute and sell and infuse the branding.
Are indians getting their worth ????.. I would say its big..big NO. We indians are paying in hefty as we contribute in work force to all above activities for britannia's growth, and finally we see this..!!

Well.. !! Well..!! If I were to cheat in any process outsourced by britannia then it would see me sued. Why would my country watch britannia do this to us.. !!!

May be.. lets have a first look on the photos..

allow yourself to liberally comment on this ..
